Dr. Leonid Kleynberg Profile
As one of the most compassionate and knowledgeable physicians in the Los Angeles Area, Dr. Leonid Kleynberg received his Medical Doctorate at Tashkent Medical Institute in the Former Soviet Union from 1970-1976. Dr. Kleynberg then furthered his medical education and became a successful practicing surgeon in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. However, in 1990, Dr. Kleynberg along with his wife decided to immigrate to the United States with their two children, David and Roman. To say that times were tough is an understatement – with only his shirt on his back, the father, husband, and doctor along with his wife had ambitions for a better life in the city of Los Angeles. In 1994, he entered an internal residency program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine at Shadyside Hospital. In 1998, he completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He along with his family moved to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Orlando, Florida, one of the most prestigious and well-established cancer centers in the country that offered Dr. Kleynberg excellent education in cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. Finally, in 2000, Dr. Kleynberg decided to return to Los Angeles and begin practice in Medical Oncology/Hematology. He opened the Kleynberg Medical Clinic where he works to treat those afflicted by cancer with his caring medical staff. Outside of Medicine, Dr. Leonid enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He also enjoys traveling, scuba-diving, photography, music, sports. He is an avid fisherman and enjoys spending time with his three sons.
